Natural Products I Use For My Kids and Babies

I made my transition to natural and organic beauty around 2 and a half years ago now, and when I did. I vowed if it was good enough for me, then it was good enough for my children. Being all too aware of the unwanted ingredients in conventional formula’s. My switch meant the whole family went to natural products. I’ve used a lot of various products in this time on me and my children. So I thought I would share my favourite products.

Baby Products:

With Lucas having used natural and organic products since birth, problems such as nappy rash, dry skin and cholic were a recurring issue in our household.

Nappy rash is one of the worst experiences we had with Lucas during his first year and a half of life. There’s nothing worse than hearing your baby cry in agony during changing or trying to bathe them. For that, the Neals Yard Nappy Cream seemed to work relatively well. It was gentle and seemed to provide him with instant relief when applied. As a new mum, I’d also signed myself up to be a NYRO (Neals Yard Remedies Organic Consultant) as I love the brand and it allowed me to save a small amount as a consultant with a discount. So a lot of my baby products came from there.

For my stink bags, I wanted to go as eco-friendly as possible and used Nature Babycare Eco Disposable Nappy Bags as they are 1–% compostable and biodegradable (every little helps).

Nappies, I personally was late on the band wagon for eco-friendly nappies. But eventually found for absorbency, gentle-ness and eco-friendliness, the Nature Babycare Nappy Range to be very good. So many times I have had small chemical or urine burns from nappies. However Aldi’s award winning range (prior to finding Nature Babycare) was also very good.

Baby wipes were an easy-ish switch. The Huggies Pure range are very reasonably priced. However are not as ‘pure’ or ‘clean’ ingredients wise as Water Wipes. There is a significant increase in price and to be honest, Huggies worked perfectly well and although not the cleanest or purest. Were extremely gentle, affordable and biodegradable. If price was no issue, Water Wipes would be my first choice.

For The Children

As the kids get a little older, I then switched to The Weleda 2in1 Range. 100% certified natural, gentle , multifunctional and a more affordable product that’s clean. The kids love the choice of Orange, Mint, Vanilla and Lime and as it can be used for hair and body. It functions as a good all-rounder.

Everyone loves a good bubble bath, and the kids are no exception. So we use the Burts Bees Baby Bee Bubble Bath, whenever I am doing a spot of shopping at Boots.

I would love to hear if there are any natural products you use and love. Im currently on the lookout for a good childrens toothpaste that isn’t coconut oil based. Any and all suggestions very welcome!
